November 2000

Lauren's first Halloween was, as you can see, as a flower. She was a very sweet flower and she definitely didn't scare anybody.
Her first stop was Stitchitize to pick up Daddy and see Amanda, Beverley, Kevin, Darcy, her Nana and Uncle Carl. That's Uncle Carl with her in the picture. The little flower also made stops at Grandma Paulett's house and Auntie Andrea's house where cousin Molly and George live.
The weather couldn't have a been nicer in Saskatoon for Halloween this year. There was sun and warmth which is very good for this part of the country. All of that seems like a distant memory now as the winter has now settled in and the snow is here to stay.

Our beautiful building caught the eye of a movie producer and we agreed to let them shoot a movie at Stitchitize.
Everything happened outside and they had to paint the windows and put all kinds of stuff in the window to make it look like a corner store in the early 1900's. Funny thing is the building was a corner store in the early 1900's.
The made for TV movie, called the "Impossible Elephant" featured a baby elephant that everybody here fell in love with. I have no idea when the movie will play but I think they said it will be picked up by Disney.
We could see all the action out our windows and it's a good thing they were done in one day as it is hard to digitize with all that excitement.

Lorna, Lauren and I traveled to Fox Creek, Alberta this month. Lorna's cousin, Tammy, had a wedding celebration. Tammy Czinkota and Brad Pevoy were married somewhere up in the Rocky Mountains earlier this year with their immediate family as their witnesses.
The party in Fox Creek was for the rest of us to celebrate with them, and boy o' boy did we.
This was Lauren's first family wedding and she attracted almost as much attention as the bride at times. She is very good at traveling and visiting and seems to love meeting people. She always comes up with a smile at just the right moment.
Lorna and I made Tammy and Brad embroidered blankets to stay warm way up there in Fox Creek. (It seems like it was half way to Alaska to us.) We did have a great time in Alberta, and were very happy to visit Tammy in her new home town.
