Trevor and George team up to sew the first batch of ribbons. We actually got started in the afternoon when Darcy, the production manager of Broadway Embroidery, set the first run up on our 12-head. We used a uni-frame that hoops the material continuously. At 5:00pm, when the staff was done for the day, there were already hundreds of ribbons sewn. My mom, Wendy, came back with supper, and we stayed until about 9:00pm. We completed 2 runs of the chained together ribbons, totaling over 950 individual ribbons, and approximately 1.7 million individual stitches. While we were at it, we set the 6-head up to sew the large version of our 9-11 Memorial Design, not to mention we had the 2 heads sewing Stitchitize Stock Design bags for our CD's. Pretty good for a Father and Son team, if I do say so, myself.

We took the sheets of ribbons to our very good friends, the Reasers, garment factory called Actionwear. Robin helped us with the ribbons, by applying white fusable backing, with a very large heat press. This gave the ribbons a finished edge on both sides. Now the ribbons are ready to be cut out.
We held a party at the Stitchitize office, to make the first batch of ribbons for Scott's Tree. All of our family and friends were invited and many were able to help out. Everybody pitched in and cut ribbons until they were all cut out.
Then it was time for Pizza. Did you ever use your 6-head as a pizza stand?
After supper, we kept working on the tree. Setting the tree up, writing names on the ribbons, and finally hanging them on the tree, was a group effort. By the time everyone was ready to go home, almost everything was done.
We took a few group photos for fun, and Lauren found great new box to play in. The tree is beautiful, and I would like to thank everyone that has hung a ribbon. Each ribbon shines so bright on the tree, and comes with such wonderful memories. Please add a ribbon at any time, we will be adding to the tree often.

After taking Scott's tree to a few trade shows, we realized that when we travel as a family, the box will not fit in the vehicle with all of the people. Before Lorna and I were married, she used to have a very small Christmas tree for her apartment. We decided that we would make Scott's Tree of Remembrance, JR. The smaller tree will be easier to take with us for longer trips. Along with Scott's Tree, JR. we bring a book with all of the pages from our web site with everyone's messages of love.
We hung 38 new ribbons on Scott's Tree JR.
38 ribbons multiplied by 1834sts per ribbon = 69,692 new stitches on the tree.
1,063,364sts plus 69,692 new stitches = 1,133,056 total stitches on the tree.
