October 2006

The Rolling Stones in Saskatchewan

We could hardly believe it when we heard the news that the Stones were coming to Saskatchewan for a concert. The first show sold out so fast thata second show was added and it sold out too. We wanted to go and managed to find tickets on Ebay. An outdoor concert in October was risky as there could have been snow. It was a cold night but no snow, we dressed well as you can see in the photos above, and stayed warm. I think Mick and the boys froze their fingers but that didn't stop them from delivering a fantastic show. Finally Saskatchewan could have some "Satisfaction".

Trip to Toronto for the Creative Festival.

Trevor, George and Wendy, attended the Creative Festival in Toronto in October. We had a booth and showed our new line of Bohin notions as well as Stitchitize CD's. We brought a huge selection of hand sewing needles and they were well received. The most popular item in our booth was the multi colored marking set. The photo above left is George and Wendy with Nick from Triangle Sewing in Guelph. Trevor and George managed to take in a CFL football game. The Saskatchewan Roughriders were in town and we enjoyed cheering for the visitors. As you can see in the photo above Trevor had a good time at the game. Trevor attended a banquet at the show that was sponsored by Swarovski Crystals. The photo above shows(left to right) Trevor with Nancy of Wonderfil Thread, Celine, Debbie and Linda of Janome Canada. We are all showing off the beautiful bracelets we received as a door prize. As you can see we all had a good time in Toronto.

Halloween 2006

Halloween is so much fun for kids. We carve pumpkins and the kids dress up in costumes. This year Lauren was a princess and Nicholas was Eeyore from Winnie the Pooh. They wear costumes at school and then in the evening they "TRICK OR TREAT" on our street. They collect candy from all of our neighbours and it's just as much fun for the neighbours to see the cute kids in costume as it is for the kids to collect all that candy. Moms and Dads like to roast the pumpkin seeds and have a good time too. The candy will last for months and it's easy to see why Halloween is one of the kids favorite special times of the year.

This months free design is a beautiful freestanding "Lace Christmas Ornament". There are instructions about how to make freestanding embroidery available for download on our instructions page.
